![]() Clifton Hall Nursery School has recently celebrated the official opening of an extended and completely refurbished building.
The Nursery is set within Clifton Hall's unique grounds providing the children with daily opportunities to explore the natural world and experience seasonal changes. Children are required to attend a minimum of 5 sessions per week, 8.15am to 12 noon, with the option of adding a school-cooked two course lunch between 12 noon and 1.00pm. Afternoon care in the Nursery extends to 3.00pm and thereafter children can be catered for in the school's After School Club until 5.30pm (6.00pm by appointment). During a typical week each Nursery child will participate in a key worker led activity, music and dance sessions, a PE lesson from the school's PE department and use the school library. In addition, pre-school children will participate in French, pre-school teacher led activities in language and mathematics and have the option to swim during an afternoon session. The Nursery children fully participate in planning their half-termly topics which encourages them to become effective contributors, responsible citizens, confident individuals and successful learners. The Nursery is in partnership with Edinburgh City Council. This qualifies all children (in the term following their 3rd birthday) for pre-school partnership funding. |

The Nursery provides highly rated quality education (HMI inspection report 2007/Care Commission Report 2008) for 3-5 year olds with a new capacity of 40 children.
